Unprecedented Hope
We found out about Eastside through a friend who posted one of Gene’s messages on Facebook. The next weekend we decided to show up in person. Around the same time, another friend invited us to a Christmas service. We got plugged in within a month, and this has just been our church for the last seven years.
The words unleash compassion, is exactly what Eastside is doing locally and globally. It really does give us the opportunity to serve our community and serve our global neighbors too. Every time there is a video of what’s going on overseas, Kylie is moved to tears. It’s just so cool to see how our church community is able to provide help and resources and even more going on behind the scenes we don’t see. We are very thankful to be just a small portion of this compassion.
Watching compassion videos reminds us where our tithe is going, that these dollars are being used for the good and the growth of God's kingdom in giving unprecedented hope.
Over the last few years, we’ve noticed that if you’re not careful, giving and tithing can end up on autopilot. It’s something that’s great to schedule, so you don’t forget by having it come right out of your paycheck. However, sometimes this habit can also make the donation out of sight, out of mind. On the weekend, watching compassion videos reminds us where our tithe is going, that these dollars are being used for the good and the growth of God’s kingdom in giving unprecedented hope. Not just internationally and overseas, but here at home, right in our backyards.
Part of the unfinished challenge is that Eastside will have 100% engagement. Along with 100% engagement, we will also get to be a part of seeing campus growth, outreach, and compassion projects. We are invested in this church and in the mission of what Eastside is doing, and we want to be a part of what this initiative looks like during this next season.
We are Colin and Kylie, and we are unfinished.
